웨스트민스터 신앙고백서 25장 교회 - 제3항 성직과 규례들
이 보편적인 유형 교회에게 세상 끝날까지 이 세상에서 성도들을 모으는 일과 온전케 하는 일을 위하여 그리스도께서는 하나님의 성직聖職과 성경과 성례를 제정해 주셨다. 그리고 그의 약속을 따라 그 자신의 임재하심과 또 성령으로 말미암아 성도들이 효과적으로 모아지며 온전케 되는 것이다.

Unto this catholic visible Church Christ hath given the ministry, oracles, and ordinances of God, for the gathering and perfecting of the saints, in this life, to the end of the world: and doth by his own presence and Spirit, according to his promise, make them effectual thereunto.
